Logistics
We find that the atmosphere
on the evening makes a huge difference to the
course.
The welcome, subtle lighting and the right music
all help to set the scene.
Food
A meal is served at the beginning of the evening.
Coffee, tea and homemade cakes or biscuits are
served during the long break while each husband
and wife discuss that evening’s topic together.
If you have a large course you may want to consider
using an outside caterer. See our menu ideas for
extra help.
Cost of course
The charge for the course is based on the cost
of the food, the Manuals and the venue. You may
wish to make bursaries available to those who
cannot afford the cost.
Manuals
Each guest will need a Manual.
Music
We have suggested music in the Leaders’
Guide as it is important the volume is consistent
to ensure the couple’s privacy. There is
a mixture of classical and contemporary music
to suit the tone of the exercise.
Book table
We suggest you set up a table with recommended
books for sale or with order forms from a local
bookshop. See our list of suggested books.
Referrals
You will need to have the contact details of
at least one counsellor in your area to whom couples
could be referred if they need extra help to deal
with an issue. By leaving these details on your
book table, couples can have access to this information
without having to enquire.
